Cost of Laser Hair Removal

The cost of laser hair removal not only varies from city to city in the way the treatments are billed.

Hair Removal Treatments

Many women find that hormonal imbalances that occur with aging may cause them to grow embarrassing facial hair.

Commonly used methods like plucking, electrolysis, and waxing have limitations. Plucking is time-consuming, difficult and painful, and it needs to be repeated often. Electrolysis can be expensive, with potential side effects that include infection of hair follicles and discoloration. The results of waxing only last for several weeks on average, and it can also cause redness and irritation to skin.

Most people would rather eliminate new growth before it is visible. It’s not surprising, then, that laser facial hair removal is becoming more and more common as the treatment of choice for removing unwanted facial hair.

Cost of Laser Hair Removal

The cost of laser facial hair removal varies widely depending on a variety of factors. Typically, a complete treatment costs a hundred dollars or more. Many clinics and salons require a consultation to determine an individual’s unique needs before pricing. Patterns of hair growth and the amount of hair to be removed are, of course, factors in calculating the cost of treatment.

In some cases, cost is determined as a flat fee on a per treatment basis, for a package of treatments, or the cost of laser hair removal can be based on time. For example, it may be calculated per 15 minutes of treatment.

Finally, some clinics and salons charge on a per pulse basis, charging according to the number of times the laser is fired.
